- Project 446310-2-52-01 — Pedestrian Lighting Justification
The purpose of this memorandum is to document the need for pedestrian lighting along the SR 50 (Colonial Dr) corridor from Kirkman Rd to John Young Pkwy. This project includes resurfacing and related safety improvements. The corridor serves multiple transit stops, commercial destinations, and high levels of pedestrian activity, particularly in the vicinity of the Kirkman Rd and John Young Pkwy intersections.
Pedestrian lighting will improve visibility for all users, enhance safety at transit stops and intersections, and support nighttime walking and transit access. The proposed lighting is consistent with Department design standards and complements the planned roadway improvements.
